Defi Magic Posion

08.10.2009 - 07.11.2009
A line that becomes more and more simple but full of expression takes us quietly into Defi's new fantasy. "Magic Posion" is here to spread colors and needs. Daze us with nothing. To freeze all moments in front of us. Animals, objects, sensations that desperate need to go out and take on the street, are now fixed and locked up. They are mutating and searching their own materia, where to be comfortable, to be voracious, to feed on the viewer´s reactions. Inspiration is so simple and real as hunger. I can´t get no satisfaction. Defi's will be the last show of a 2 year series done in collaboration with POP!

MWM Parallel Universe

23.06.2009 - 25.07.2009
An ambitious creative spirit, MWM (Matt W. Moore) has traveled to Sao Paulo for one month to prepare, from scratch, for his first South American Solo-Exhibition. He arrived with no art, no supplies, and no firm plan for this new series of canvas paintings. The ideas for the artworks have actualized while processing time spent absorbing Brazilian Culture, exploring this Mega-City, the vibrant colors, the exaggerated geometry, and the diverse architecture of Sao Paulo.

MWM's "Parallel Universe" Series explores and celebrates the convergence of his dedication to various disciplines of design and art. The paintings were created entirely with spray paint, one of Matt's favorite mediums. But, the designs are very clean, and appear almost digital in their precise details and craft. An honest, analog attempt to achieve the same depth and abstract geometry of his digital "Vectorfunk" style. The goal with each work is to have the viewers eye fall into the piece and get lost in the optical illusions, trying to figure out what is up, down, left, and right. Welcome to the Jungle!

Chamarelli Viracocha

19.05.2009 - 20.06.2009
Chamarelli lives in a multicultural country full of contrasts that reflects in his work. Featuring mosaic, geometric elements, organic forms and harmonic lines connecting symbols, legends, philosophies, religions and customs of ancient and modern civilizations. Within this diversity is the strong influence of Brazilian popular culture and pre-Columbian indigenous art. Chamarelli's art follows the rhythm of globalization, bringing borders and cultures closer. His characters with serious expressions live in different realities and situations that appear surreal. Music has a very important role during Chamarelli's creation processes, helping to give it flow.

Boris Hoppek Brazil

03.02.2009 - 14.03.2009
"Again I don't have a text about the exhibition. First because I am bad with writing and second because I don't explain my work, well I just explain that I don't explain it. Why I don't explain stands for the concept of not explaining. could be - a) I use it as an excuse to cover up first that I am bad with writing or - b) my work has nothing that has to be explained, or - c) it has something, but I don't want to explain just a small part of it not to mention all the subliminal elements and interpretation variations I don't know of. Whatever, let's say its all together." Brazil is Boris Hoppek's long awaited first solo exhibition in... oh, yes... Brazil.

Tony de Marco Sao Paulo No Logo

04.11.2008 - 06.12.2008
Until the beginning of 2007 the city of Sao Paulo had more than 15 thousand billboards, most of them illegal. By the streets they appeared on both sides, forming a kind of Polish corridor of advertising messages. On March 31, the so called Clean City Bill, changed everything. Tons of steel structures was partially demolished, thousands of billboards erased and countless letter signs removed. From a day to another the city became quiet. Walls stopped yelling and the blue sky appeared behind billboards. Photographer and artist Tony de Marco documented in March this historic moment and quickly won the world with his photos. From a post at BoingBoing the images of the naked city spread the blogosphere in languages such as Japanese, Danish, Hungarian and even the Macedonian. For months his pictures were magazines covers , newspapers and calendars across the globe, appeared in documentaries and MTV's clips. In 2008 they were exposed in the Design Museum in London and the museum Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'Art Contemporain.

Wagner Pinto Miração

30.09.2008 - 01.11.2008
Pinto's artwork is developed through mixed and threatening forms of drawing and painting. The artist's research is based on elements and symbols of umbanda, candomblé, indigenous graphics, religious dressings, alchemical elements and folklore forest. These are translated through his pictorial vocabulary in the form of layers of lines, profusion of intense and contrasting colors, abstract symbols and graphs. His investigative search has as objective creation of unknown pictures and the gestalt of shapes and colors.

Avignon is a master in reducing complex to essential. He notes and reflects the abysses of being in a fascinating panorama of unquiet beauty.

Tinho en Sao Paulo

05.08.2008 - 13.09.2008
The artist Tinho, one of the pioneers of the Brazilian graffiti and punk skater by nature, develops in his artistic work a singular painting where the acumulation of information and the influence of skate/punk show a contemporary world full of violence, solitude and suffering. Elements easily viewed in big cities like São Paulo, Tokyo, Yokohama, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Berlin. Places where he was in different situations. He risked his first wall 13 years of age in 1986 and happened to see the world with other eyes, living in the underground suburbs on the side of punks and skater, always had a political vision of what surrounded him, motivating to produce art in the most varied media, predominating the walls of the cities he has passed.

Garage Fuzz, Most, of street art, toyart, children, etc.. Finally, Alexandre Cruz is a maniac. It is difficult to say what is the specialty of this inhabitant of megalopolis Sao Paulo, as it does 300 things at once and he constantly strives to peak in all of them. It is contradictory, but true. Making an effort to make it brief, we can say that the subject is a full time musician, composer, visual artist, graphic designer, entrepreneur and father. That if we look at the life of Alexander today, as in the past he has made tons of other notable things, which are for the future archeologists to discover.
