Rock Me ATM Group Show

25.02.2010 - 28.03.2010
ATM Gallery from Berlin will present some of their top artists at INOPERAbLE. ATM operates as a translator and mediator of Art presented in an urban environment. Its aim is to draw attention to the energetic expressions of an international street-art scene. in the space of a gallery. ATM shows a broad selection of art works created by international urban artist and invites its visitors to take part in the visual language of an urban surrounding, instead of leaving it to the street where it can only be acknowledged by some. In monthly changing exhibitions ATM shows different positions of urban, street- and graffiti artists and their impressive varieties of skills. ATM is not interested in taking streetart from the streets and establishing it as an art form in the white cube of contemporary art – instead ATM likes to awaken an awareness and tolerance of the art form. At the same time ATM supports urban artists by helping them to earn money by selling their works which enables them to continue working in the urban space.

Jana und JS at Inoperable

16.01.2010 - 12.02.2010
Stencil artists Jana and JS first met in a shared apartment in Madrid. At this point in time the City was establishing itself as a real central place for Stencil Art. "This technique seemed like the best way for me to express myself artistically. I started to cut and paint very simple stencils. The following year when I returned to Paris I met many artists, including Artiste-Ouvrier, who in 2005, founded the first French Stencil Crew, "Working Class Art" (WCA). We have since joined the collective, and it is because of this and other encounters that we developed our style which still defines us today." -JS. Jana began cutting Stencils back in Austria and later moved to Paris in 2006. The two artists began working together and continue to do so in Salzburg. Jana and JS' work characterizes itself in a very exact, realistic, and colorful style. Above all Urban space and areas which lay in ruins or are in the process of being demolished interest them. The images in their work reflect the cities where the work is then left, including Paris, Salzburg, Vienna, Madrid, Barcelona.

Perfekt World Modern Painting Commercial Art Post Graffiti

19.11.2009 - 19.12.2009

Mizzo and M8 Zirkus

23.10.2009 - 14.11.2009
INOPERAbLE proudly presents the long awaited female artist show featuring the two swiss artists Mizzo and M8. Despite having very different styles the two have found many ways to combine their art so that they complement each other nicely. Whereas Mizzo tends to combine old and new working often with found materials and toned down colors, M8 uses bold shapes and bright colors always in search of the perfect reduced form.

21.05.2008 - 20.06.2009
Exploding out of the Street Art scene down under, mostly known for their Stencil Art, australian Shida has made a name for himself with his fascinating style which is no doubt influenced by Mexican Day of the Dead art and Maori tiki Art but also encompasses traces of World renowned Artists such as Dalek, Os Gemeos, Mr. Jago and the energy and free spirit of Jackson Pollock. However his unique characters illustrate an impressive skill level leaving the viewer wondering if they offer a menacing grin or a subtle smirk. Either way Shida's monsters live in their own world where yor rules don't matter!

Sat One in Inoperable

13.03.2008 -04.04.2009
Some of you might know the work of SatOne. He’s been published in almost all the graffiti magazines at some point, and he’s in numerous books. Plus if you have ever been to the Arena, I’m sure you’ve looked at it at least once. SatOne claims to be inspired by Nature and Organic shapes but when you look at his work its so amazingly clean it looks as if it was created by a machine! But maybe that’s the secret and SatOne is a machine, with the amount of work he is able to produce commercially and personally, I wouldn’t be surprised! SatOne has exhibited numerous times in about 10 countries and has worked for companies such as Burton, Adidas, and Langnese.

ACC crew Destroy & Rebuild

17.02.2008 -07.03.2009
Prior to the thought of ever making a living selling art, we were all forcing our work around the city, illegally. We spend countless years doing graffiti and being apprehended by the police officials until we decided to do something positive with our gift. We formed Destroy&Rebuild on the basis that we destroyed the city with our graffiti and now were rebuilding it through urban/industrial art. All of the Destroy&Rebuild member were born in New York and started doing art on the streets and subways in and around the city. Combined, each member of the collective adds not only a long history of doing graffiti but also a different tool and creative element to that way the art is created. We blend the uses of photography, paints, silk-screen, graphic design, hand done illustration, rust oxidation, collage, and anything else we can think of to add to our urban industrial theme.

Tika Free Animalistika

01.08.2008 - 28.08.2008
The amazing swiss artist arrived a few days ago and has been working hard, (despite an injured arm) to accurately demonstrate animalistika skills for the austrian crowds. The eclectic style and all that comes with it will be on display for the show and here to wow the masses. You can expect a little taste of Rio de Janeiro flavor floating around, since Tika spends a lot of time over in Brazil. And don't be surprised to see a few faces reminiscent of Frida Kahlo on display. The show, entitled "Free Animalistika" will represent the artists new experimentation with the animalistika side. Caging the imaginary animals (yet still somehow recognizable) in cramped frames/cages, hoping that someone might come along and free them...

Chrisitee Wiener portraits

24.05.2008 - 25.06.2008
"Started to draw since I was a baby Chrisi with my dad and sister.Pushed my skateboard first in 1990 and from the beginning I loved art in skateboarding and skateboarding in art. People like Mark Gonzales, Andy Howell and Ed Tempelton were my first art/skateboarding heroes. But I also love the old viennese art scene like Egon Schiele nad Gustav Klimt, they gave me a lot of inspiration. It took me a while before I started to paint on shirts, skateboards and other stuff. After years of experimentation I found my own style to explain myself." - Chrisitee.
